1967 Citroën DS 19

You know those things that make you question your whole existence on this Earth? There are things that are so obscene, so extraordinary, so beautiful; that it feels inexplicable that something so mundane as myself could possibly exist at the same time.

I was watching some Attenborough doc out of the corner of my eye while vaguely paying attention to the group’s conversation about half marathon paces when the focus switched to a couple of Great Whites hunting some poor seals. I’m instantly hooked. There’s something so fascinating about a creature quite so disturbing, quite so alien. You know it’s real, yet it seems unfathomable, as if it must be CGI.

That can’t belong here. Yet, the Great White is at the top of the tree. It commands respect from everything in its wake. It’s been engineered to perfection in such a way that can pretty much eat anything in its wake. It’s striking. It’s unorthodox. You can’t take your eyes off of it. So, using logic, shouldn’t it be far less alien and arguably more common?

Unfortunately, it’s the best animals that always seem to go extinct. Make that make sense. They must all have one major flaw that kills them off. That or humans just want to see the world burn. You never hear of people hunting pigeons…

Unfortunately, it’s the same for the objects of our materialistic world. Some of the best things are unaffordable in nature, and that’s understandable. But it’s the choices that people make that kill off the best made things. The problem is people can’t be arsed to search for quality and beauty, and I genuinely believe people pass on what they may actually want deep down, just to have what other people have.

Anyway, here’s some pictures of a Citroën DS.
